Indeed it is a million dollar question. It has been quite some time that I am trying to figure out the motive. Finally, it struck me. Mainly there are two primary reasons as to why I blog.
First Reason: To capture my random thoughts in a form of journaling
So far this has been working. I set up a separate blog at USR to pour my thoughts in as soon as I get up in the morning. It has several benefits. The one that stands at the top is capturing the idea while improving my writing too.
I have been doing this consistently now for the past few months. In the best interest of time, I write on alternate days. Once I start only working for myself, I will set it to daily. Because there will be a certain amount of words that should be put into some form.
With some form I mean blogs, articles, newsletters, marketing research, etc.
Second Reason: To share my knowledge and expertise
Lately, I realized why not to share my expertise with the people looking for some ideas, hacks and other highly actionable insights that they can simply copy and boom start working.
I love teaching and sharing my knowledge to aspiring digital marketing candidates. The reach is however limited. But setting up a digital platform will enable me to share my knowledge to a wide audience across geographies.
Acting on this idea, I set up another blog at USR Digital which mainly talks about digital and online business. The work is in progress. Also I feel it is more of a journey than a destination.
